NEW Music in the Archive [March 29th 2019]

The hunt continues!

1) Burna Boy - "Ye"
Yes a major song on the circuit. I'm late, but its added.

South Africa
2) DJ Kent - "Omunye Cut" Freshbreakfast Mix
I stumbled across this remix of "Omunye"! Its part of a larger mix by DJ Kent back in 2017.

So I had to update the archive with hits I had somehow missed by DJ Maphorisa.

3) DJ Maphorisa ft Lerato Kganyago & KayLow – "Dali"
Of course I couldn't resist another beautiful melody by DJ Maphorisa. Love song...

4) DJ Maphorisa, DJ Raybel ft. Moonchild Sanelly, K.O, Zulu Mkhathini - "iWalk Ye Phara
I heard this when it first came out but didn't have the chance to grab it. Now its official. It's just so wavy. Vocals, drums, rhythm. Apparently Beyonce posted it to her Instagram as a backing track etc. Let's just be clear I got to it before that via Maphorisa lol I'm just saying.

5) DJ Maphorisa, DJ Shimza ft. Moonchild Sanelly  - "Makhe"
Moonchild's vocal on the chorus is a little disconcerting, but that's just me being extra. Otherwise great vibe!

6) DJ Maphorisa - "Memeza (Remix)"
Maphorisa did a remix for "Memeza" by Benny Maverick, and I totally approve.

Cape Verde
#NewToMe Never heard of Elji before.  Here are my picks from what I've found from him so far...

7) Elji Beatzkilla ft Nelson Freitas -  "Belle Histoire"
I already LOVE Nelson Freitas and his wonderfully produced harmonies in most of his songs. So this was a nice mix of Zouk and Kizomba.

8) Elji Beatzkilla - "Matam"
That low, suppressed but steady beat at the end of the song MAKES the song. Yes!

9) Elji Beatzkilla - "Sara"
This one and "Belle Histoire" are my faves by Elji. The accordion and guitar use is bliss!

10) Harmonize - "Nishachoka
Theme: Heart break... Another artist that's #NTM

11) Jetta - "Take It Easy (Matstubs Remix)"
Matstubs is an EDM/Trap producer.  I love his work. This remix did the song some justice! Gets points for being wavy yet still complimenting the original song!

12) Neru Americano - "Zaranza"
#NewToMe Genre: Kuduro. Some might say this is Afro House, but I say its more reminiscent of Kuduro. It bangs!

13) Otile Brown Ft Shetta - "Tamu Sana"

Nigeria, Morocco
14) Zak Abel - "Unstable [Maleek Berry Remix]"
I initially discovered this song on SOFAR (I love this channel) when Zak did an acoustic performance. It was such a great song! I wasn't expecting an afro-beat sound from him lol. Being honest. I liked it. Then I found the Maleek Berry mix and I was complete.

Original version is HERE.
