To Be Fully Known

"We are only what we are in the dark; all the rest is reputation. What God looks at is what we are in the dark—the imaginations of our minds; the thoughts of our heart; the habits of our bodies; these are the things that mark us in God’s sight." - The Love of God—The Ministry of the Unnoticed, 669 L

Its true. I think there are those of us who run haphazardly in the dark going nowhere, due to a fear of being honest with ourselves. We don't want to stop and reflect, thereby learning more about who we are and who we could be. Self Identity.

The quote above is quite sobering, if you think about it. It really makes sense, because no one, no human being can read your thoughts. They're forced to trust you or judge you based on the external (your body language, your words...). But, God CAN read your mind and in addition to that, He knew you before you were a thought in His mind. He was pleased enough to express that very thought of you, by bringing you to life...creating your existence. He placed you in your mother's womb at some point in time. Its crazy to consider. But I guess that's why they call Jesus's love, "Crazy Love". (Side note: There's a book I haven't read yet by Francis Chan, called "Crazy Love: Overwhelmed by a relentless God". After writing this, I quickly added it to my list).

In reality what makes God trustworthy is the fact that He can be closer to us than our closest friends and our most loved family members. Any part of creation. One of the reasons being that we don't have to fight to be known by Him.

"Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." - Matthew 11:28-30

"...casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you" - 1 Peter 5:7

Personally, through out my life I've seen evidence that I (we) can get the kind of rest no man, woman, place or thing can ever provide; a real and lasting type of inner and outer peace that only God has the authority, power and desire to provide. Whether we want to believe it or ignore it, He's right here.
